25 There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.
28.When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21 v 25 & 28
Jesus was asked in Luke 21 v 7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”
The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5 verse , 6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
happen, in 2 Peter 2 regarding False Teachers and their Destruction - 1.But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
Also the apostle Peter emphasises what will In Revelation 6 God revealed to the apostle John in a vision, the sequence of events, the Judgement meted out on the earth in the Last Days, yet the wonderful future for all God’s people of every nation.
Based on what events we see happening across the world, and if you and I are going to be prepared for what the bible is warning us about, events of the future which are developing before our very eyes, we need to be prepared, but there are curtain fundamental things we all have to ask ourselves first.
Do you know Jesus as your personal Saviour, have you been Born Again?
Are you studying the Word of God, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit?
Do you have an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ?
Are you part of a healthy fellowship and receiving good, sound, Biblical teaching?
The bible says in Rom_13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
As children of God, knowing the short time available to us, having a grasp of the truth in His word, let’s ask ourselves, what encouragement can we bring as we see these events unlocking Gods plans for the End Times?
Introduction
From the moment that Satan deceived Adam and Eve the people of this world have been grossly rebelling against God. At certain stages in past ages God has had to judge the world for its wickedness, like at the flood (Genesis 3) then by abandoning the Israelites for a season with them being exiled into Babylon for a season (2 Chronicles 36 )
A new heaven and a new earth
For those of us who know the Lord, we can take great courage from what the apostle Peter said to the church - But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:13
But God had a plan to rescue the world if they will only turn to Him again. We read in the New Testament (Hebrews 2 v 9) of Jesus as the son of God being born into this world to experience the degradation of sin as well as experience what is to live in a world of sin. But Gods ultimate purpose was for Jesus to die on a cross and bare the punishment we deserve instead of us
(John 3 v 16).
Just before Jesus left this earth He promised (John 14 v 3) He would return and take His people to be with himself and live with him for eternity. This is what every Christian should be longing and waiting for to hear the final trumpet (1 Corinthians 15:52) and to be called to their final home in heaven.
In various places in the bible we get a glimpse of Gods ultimate plans for mankind. Through speaking in visions to various prophets, Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Joel and Amos, God reveals the time table of events, as well as to the apostle John in the book of Revelations. God also tells us what signs we should look out for which will indicate when End Time events are imminent and about to take place, but as Jesus clearly said in Matthew 24 v 36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Let’s take a look at what has been happening in the world today, in particular the extraordinary extremes in the weather, the extremes in the religious and political world, the overall moral decline in society, as well as compromise within the church, to show that the days we are living in are the Last Days the End Times.
In order to evaluate what is happening we need to follow what the BIBLE has to say in the light of current events the world over.
Once we take a step back and review what is happening in the world, then we need to go back to the BIBLE and line the events up with what it says about them. Jesus reminds us what would happen in the last days -
In Matthew 24 verse 4 Jesus answered:
“Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
25 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26 People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
Jesus was asked in Luke 21 v 7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”8 He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. 9 When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”10 When he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.
